Dr. Brad Blanton

Brad Blanton is a psychotherapist, bestselling author, workshop leader, speaker, and the founder of Radical Honesty Enterprises (forbearer to the Radical Honesty Institute).

Brad describes himself as “white trash with a Ph.D.” Armed with quick wit and an engaging Southern accent, he speaks with an unwavering honesty that is both disarming and challenging, a quality that has earned him admirers as well as detractors.

Brad’s first book, Radical Honesty: How To Transform Your Life By Telling The Truth, became a nationwide best seller in 1995 and has been translated into twelve languages and published around the world. The new revised edition was released by Sparrowhawk Publishing in April 2005.

His second book, Practicing Radical Honesty: How to Complete the Past, Live in the Present and Build a Future with A Little Help From Your Friends, is about the relationship between personal transformation and social transformation.

In 2002, consistent with that same theme, Brad and Neale Donald Walsch co-wrote Honest to God: A Change of Heart that Can Change the World, a conversation-turned book and audiobook. Also in 2002, he published Radical Parenting: Seven Steps to a Functional Family in a Dysfunctional World, which is about his approach to child rearing. Brad says it is the most radical book he has ever written (so far).

To celebrate the personal transformations achieved through his 3-Day and 8-Day Intensive Radical Honesty workshops he continued to lead worldwide during this time, Brad Blanton co-authored The Truthtellers: Stories of Success by Radically Honest People with some of his former clients and workshop participants in 2004.

After publishing a novel (Beyond Good And Evil), a political treatise (The Korporate Kannibal Kookbook), his autobiography (Some New Kind of Trailer Trash), giving a TEDx Talk in Cluj, Romania in 2014 and creating the Radical Honesty Online Course, he retired at age 80. When he wasn’t on the golf course he continued to write, and his latest book Lying or Living: Can Radically Honest Co-Hearted Communities Save Us from Ourselves? will be released by Sparrowhawk Publishing in late 2024.
